Flight Foundations Course

Learning to fly drones for the first time can be challenging, there is mountains of information and flight laws to digest. So, we have taken our experience and expert knowledge and distilled it into an easy to understand one-day beginner drone training course that covers the basics of what you need to know to fly remotely piloted aircraft systems (drones/ UAVs) safely and legally.

This one day beginner drone training course covers the essentials of flying drones. Our trainers go through everything you will need to know, from operating safely and ensuring that you have all the right equipment for the job, to what you need to know to be a confident sub 2kg drone pilot. This beginner drone training course is designed to provide students with the skill and knowledge they require to confidently take their first drone into the air. It is the perfect place to start!

UAVAIR is a highly experienced and professional training company, committed to delivering quality training in the most efficient and concise way possible. The Flight Foundations course is developed by industry experts that have worked in the industry for years and have used that knowledge to create a concise course containing the essentials of what you need to know about flying RPA (remotely piloted aircrafts). We are here to make sure that you are as prepared as you can be to pilot drones for a multitude of uses. You do not need to currently have a drone to attend our course, we supply all the equipment. This course is perfect for beginners and complete drone novices who have never flown a drone before. It is also a valuable training course for those who wish to operate commercially as a sub 2kg pilot under CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) regulations (as completing this course deems you eligible for QBE insurance). This course is non-accredited.

Insurance for sub 2kg drone operations

If you wish to fly drones commercially under the Civil Aviation Safety Authority’s Sub 2kg rule you may want to consider insurance. Most insurers require drone operators to have an RePL (Remote Pilot License) to be eligible for insurance. QBE Insurance have accessed our Flight Foundations course and deemed individuals who have completed our Flight Foundations course to be eligible for RPAS Insurance from QBE Insurance. This means if you are wanting to get started quickly and cost effectively in the sub 2kg CASA drone category, this could be the best option for you. You can learn more about RPAS insurance here.
